Description
Transposed and edited for violin from the viola/piano original. Luise A. Le Beau was a prolific yet overlooked 19th-century female composer. This first movement of her “Three Pieces,” English translation “Night Piece,” features changing moods from dark to light, and slow to fast. The piano part is virtuosic, but the violin part is upper-intermediate to early-advanced. A good stand-alone recital or encore piece, or can be performed in combination with the second and third movements, “Träumerei” (Dreaming) and “Polonaise.”
