Target Practice for Intonation – Printable

$2.00

The Target Practice unit strengthens Proprioception: the sensation of the spatial orientation of body parts, as it relates to finding 1st and 3rd positions “by feel” and the finger spacing within them.

Description

Focusing on the sensory “feel” of note placement, the Target Practice unit strengthens Proprioception: the sensation of the spatial orientation of body parts, sometimes called “muscle memory.” Students experience an AHA! moment when they discover they can accurately place the 1st finger in First Position as if by magnetic attraction. Target Practice expands that confidence to the rest of the fingers, and builds on it to learn Third Position placements by feel.
